Global Warming & Industrialization.

Industrialization is a fruitful objective abided by any country if they want to succeed and plant a seed for its future, but has industrialization changed the future of our plant? According to Anup Shah from Global Issues, “The climate is changing. The earth is warming up, and there is now overwhelming scientific consensus that it is happening, and human-induced. With global warming on the increase and species and their habitats on the decrease, chances for ecosystems to adapt naturally are diminishing (Global Issues). As we all know, too much of a good thing can be bad, and those who thought and still think that industrialization has nothing but gains with no consequences are very wrong. The industrialization has brought the globe many new opportunities including a wide-span of goods, a longer life expectancy, and the ability to cash in on that entrepreneur spirit to name just a few. Before we became environmentally aware, we were and are currently exploiting our Earth’s natural gifts to us such as coal and oil to the extreme to fuel the machines of the future with little to no regard on how all the converted material and waste is harming our planet. Little knowledge was known of the effects that coal burning, Co2 emissions from cars, and mass agricultural herding of mammals that emit Co2 would have on our planet’s climate. It was first noticed by Svante Arrhenius in 1896 That fossil fuel combustion would eventually lead to the Earth warming up in the future.
Fast forward to present time and it is pretty obvious what havoc it has caused on the environment which in turn affected the climate causing droughts, colder winters, and an alarming rise in sea levels due to melting icebergs caused by Global Warming. As stated in What-When-How, “
Energy consumption is key to understanding industrialization’s impacts on climate” (What-When-How), and if we don’t figure out tangible and readily available options, we could be in for a bumpy ride.
